Content Description:  The papers of Edward R. Murrow (1908-1965), who was a war correspondent, news executive, journalist, and news analyst with CBS from 1935 to 1961 when he became the Director of the U.S. Information Agency for the Kennedy Administration. The collection includes correspondence, reports, broadcast scripts, and other documents. The scripts are for special programs and news broadcasts for such shows as CBS Reports, Hear It Now, See It Now, This I Believe and Years of Crisis. The collection includes a substantial amount of information on Senator Joseph McCarthy.
