 Scope and Content

The collection of the Zion United Methodist Church consists of two record books. The first record book, spanning the period from 1861 to 1908 is written in German. Information contained within this volume includes registers of officials, members, baptisms, marriages, and deaths. Some congregational statistics are also included. Entries were primarily written in German; however, baptisms and marriages occurring after 1893 were entered in English.

The second record book spans the period from 1908 to 1949 and is primarily written in English. However, some German entries were made for the earliest records and headings are entirely in German. This volume contains information on officials, membership, deaths, baptisms, and marriages. Included at the beginning of this volume are several church histories written at different periods.
