R. H. Foord Diary - MMS 1238

R. H. Foord, age 21, served as a sergeant and as a lieutenant in Company K, 35th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The roster of this unit states that he mustered in September 12, 1861, was wounded and captured September 20, 1863 at the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia; was paroled, and then promoted to first lieutenant of Company F on March 19, 1864. He mustered out with the company September 20, 1864 at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
