Local History Publication Award Winners

The winners of the 2012 Local History Publication Awards sponsored by the Center for Archival Collections at Bowling Green State University have been announced. Lisa Swickard was awarded the prize for Independent Scholars for her book, Calamity and Courage: Tiffin's Battle During Ohio's Deadly 1913 Flood. The award in the Academic Scholar Division went to From Institutions to Independence: A History of People with Disabilities in Northwest Ohio, edited by Barbara L. Floyd. Honorable Mentions were awarded to James Baker for his work, Searching for Lawrence Emmitt.   (Independent Scholar) and to Arab Americans in Toledo, edited by Samir Abu-Absi. (Academic Scholar). The winning entry in each division receives a $300 cash award.
