Aerial Views - 1940-1950 Pre-War Campus View

Select a Tour | Select an Aerial Tour | Select a Building

Date: About 1942
View: Looking east
Special Features: This long view shows the undeveloped area east of the central campus that would be used for much expansion in the 1960s. Although barracks style buildings are visible at the east end of the athletic field, the Karnes Farm's barn is still present, beside Wooster Street at the right of this view. The pond seen to the east of the barracks buildings would later form a focal point for a University golf course and still later serve as a decorative element in the campus landscape called Peregrine Pond.
