PROCESS

Follow these steps to complete you quest:

1. As a class we will read The Wide-Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner.

2. Your teacher will divide you into groups. With your group, research these sites for information about the life cycle of frogs:

a. http://www.EnchantedLearning.com/subjects/amphibians/Frogprintout.shtml

b. http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/madisonjason10/metamorphosis.html

3. After reading the information, get a blank piece of paper and divide it into 4 equal squares.

4. In the top left square of your paper, draw a picture of the first stage of a frog's life cycle. Label the stage by writing a sentence(s) about what happens in the first stage.

5. In the top right square of your paper, draw a picture of the second stage of a frog's life cycle. Label the stage by writing a sentence(s) about what happens in the second stage.

6. In the bottom right square of your paper, draw a picture of the third stage of a frog's life cycle. Label the stage by writing a sentence(s) about what happens in the third stage.

7. In the bottom left square of your paper, draw a picture of the fourth and final stage of a frog's life cycle. Label the stage by writing a sentence(s) about what happens in the final stage.

8. Go to this website to play a game about the life cycle of a frog:

http://www.funschool.com/cgi-bin/ga?sq1_ds1,s

9. Make an origami superfrog, by following the directions at the site below:

http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/madisonjason10/origami_instr.html

EVALUATION

You will be evaluated by your teacher on the following:

1. Are the stages of frog's life cycle in the correct order? YES NO

2. Did the student label each stage with the correct information? YES NO

3. Did the student demonstrate a knowledge of a frog's life cycle? YES NO

4. Did the student work cooperatively with members of the group? YES NO

5. Is the student's handwriting legible? YES NO

6. Were all directions followed by the student? YES NO
