Introduction

Fall is an exciting time of the year! The air is cool and crisp, the leaves change colors, and boys and girls go back to school. During this WebQuest, you will explore the season of fall.


Task

After reading the book Dappled Apples as a class, you will use the computer to learn about the fall season.

Process

1. Listen to the book Dappled Apples as the teacher reads it aloud to the class.

2. Halloween is a spooky night! Carve your own pumpkin at this website and print a copy to share with the class. http://www.thepumpkinfarm.com/jack/jackboard.html

3. While reading Dappled Apples, we noticed the illustrator used little pieces of paper to make the pictures. Print out this fall worksheet and use pieces of colored paper to fill in the picture. 5. Write a fall story and include three reasons you like fall. Use the pictures you saw in the book and the fall words to help you write the story.
