PROCESS

1. Your teacher will read to the class Dinosaur! by Peter Sis. As the teacher tells you the story, he/she will name all of the dinosaurs. (** This is a wordless picture book. I would suggest that the teacher make up a story first and read it to the class, and then take suggestions from the children the second time around; let the students create the text!)

*NOTE TO THE TEACHER: The teacher may want to give the children more information on dinosaurs. Use these websites for reference:

2. When you are done reading the book, go to the website below to make your Dinosaur Diorama: (PRINT OUT DIRECTIONS AND PRINTABLE TEMPLATE!!)

http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/dinosaurs/activities/diorama/

3. Gather all of your materials and begin making the diorama.

4. If you complete the diorama early, try out this fun dinosaur pattern activity sheet. Be sure to print a copy of the activity sheet to complete!

5. When everyone has completed his/her diorama, we will share them with the class!

EVALUATION

1. Was the diorama appropriate? YES NO

2. Did the student stay on task? YES NO

3. Did the student participate in the retelling of the story? YES NO

4. Did the student follow the directions? YES NO

CONCLUSION
