Studieren in Salzburg

You will spend your first year of graduate study (from the end of September through the end of June) at the University of Salzburg, where BGSU has a well-established academic year abroad program. After an initial orientation week, you will take advanced German language courses and special graduate courses offered by the program. In addition, you are encouraged to take regular University of Salzburg courses in Germanistik, related fields, or your second degree field if you are a dual-degree student.

The director of the Academic Year Abroad program, a member of the graduate faculty in German at Bowling Green who spends the year with you in Salzburg, will advise you on what courses to take and guide the initial stages of your research project.

The program of study in Salzburg is intended to improve your language skills, to deepen your knowledge of the German-speaking countries, and to give you first-hand experience with the Austrian university system.

Here are just some of the program courses offered through the AYA program. This list does not include courses through the University and the DAF (German as a foreign language) department.
