General Information

Introduction

BGSU supports two different types of shared account access. Individuals may share access to their personal calendars to other people and many offices around campus have office email accounts setup for shared mail and calendar use.

Office Email Accounts

Office E-Mail and Calendar Accounts provided to university departments and groups to create a unified address for incoming mail and or to tack departmental events. You can request either just an e-Mail account or both e-mail and calendar access.
Anyone with a BGSU Account can be granted access to open an Office Account of either type. They will be able to access the account via a variety of programs using their own BGSU Account credentials.

Sharing your Personal Calendar

Sharing your individual calendar will allow anyone you request with a valid BGSU Account to have access to see your personal calendar. You can set different levels of access including the ability to add events, only see events, or even only see if you are busy or free.

Opening a Shared Personal Calendar

  • When using the following guides, replace the office account username or email address with the username or email address of the individual whose calendar you wish to open.
  • Using a PC Outlook 2007 and 2010
  • Sharing from your Mac Entourage 2008 - Outlook 2011(Page 3)

Requesting Access

  • Obtaining a New Account
  • Obtaining or Removing Access for an Existing Account
    • The account owner, generally established during creation, needs to send an e-mail to tsc@bgsu.edu requesting access be granted or removed for any users added after the creation date.
  • Changing the Owner of an Account
    • The current owner needs to request a new owner be added before they leave their position. They can do so by emailingtsc@bgsu.edu.  
    • If the current owner is no longer with BGSU, please contact the Technology Support Center.
