Query Manager

Query is a PeopleSoft end-user reporting tool that will allow users to write reports in order to extract information from FMS and CSS.  Query allows users to create and run reports against the FMS or CSS database with these queries being as simple or as complex as needed. Queries can be created for a one-time use or they may be created and saved for future repeated use.

Query Manager access allows users to create new queries, modify existing queries, and schedule queries to run at a later date.  Query users will benefit from having a basic understanding of the data that the query will be based upon (such as, in what record the data is stored), and the relationships of other records within the database.

In order to obtain Query Manager access, users will need to:

1.  Complete 2 prerequisite online classes:  Fundamentals of Database Structure & Query Viewer

Please follow the class description/enrollment information link below for enrollment details, associated documentation, details regarding required quiz scores and completion of CSS 110-140 for CSS users.

2. Completion of the Query Manager hand-on class

Attending a Query Manager hands-on class is required prior to requesting security access.  The class is offered in a lab setting and it is a two-day, full day class.  The course will be offered in person twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.  Please watch Campus Updates for announcements regarding class dates.

3.  Request Security Access

Security Access for Query Manager may be requested following successful completion of the two online classes and the hands-on class.  Access may be requested by selecting Query Manager access using one of the Security Access Request forms and following the documented submission process.
