This listing of projects currently underway within the CIO's area is updated weekly and provided in order to share with the campus community a snapshot of what priorities ITS staff are working toward at the present time.

 Technology in the Classroom  (formerly ASAC)
  submissions being accepted through March 21 @ 5 p.m.

In order to provide support for the integration of technology into the curriculum, a program to aid colleges with the purchase of instructional software and databases has been established.  The Technology in the Classroom Subcommittee (formerly ASAC) annually reviews requests and recommends the purchase of software that is to be used for instruction or a classroom activity.  Further information about this program may be found at the Technology in the Classroom web page.

  PeopleSoft Roadmap (CHESS) Project 

IThe PeopleSoft Application Roadmap (CHESS-CSS/HCM Enterprise Split Strategy) Project is being undertaken in order to evaluate the current suite of PeopleSoft applications and plan for required upgrades.  The project will consist of three phases with each phase being undertaken as a separate projects.  Information about the project may be found on the project home page.  The campus community is invited to be involved in the project by attending open forums, testing queries, etc.

 Canvas replaces Blackboard as LMS

Canvas is now BGSU's Learning Management System (LMS).  Blackboard Communities will also be transition by April 30, 2014.

 Remote Print Service Available

Remote Print provides users with the ability to conveniently print documents from their own devices to ITS lab locations.

Using Remote Print jobs can be sent from personal devices in on-campus locations to remote print locations.  Once the user is at a remote print location they can swipe their BGSU ID or enter their BGSU username and password to unlock a listing of queued documents.  The user can then select the appropriate document and print.  Standard printing costs apply and documents left in the queue longer than 24 hours will be automatically removed from the list.

In order to utilize remote print the user will need to set up remote print on their device.  This set up needs to occur one time - the set up is not required with each print.  Additional information about the Remote Print service is available on the Print Responsibly web site.
