Main campus undergoes brief steam outage

Main campus buildings are cooler than usual today and till midday tomorrow due to repair work that has necessitated shutting down the steam plant. The steam will be off today (Monday, June 4) and will restart tomorrow (Tuesday, June 5). It should be fully restored by midday Tuesday.

BGSU Outdoor Programs holds summer Venture Quest camp for youths

Youths ages 9-12 can learn basic outdoor skills as well as more advanced wilderness survival and orienteering this summer at Venture Quest, a weeklong, half-day, skill-based summer camp.

Hosted by the University’s Department of Recreational Sports and Division of Student Affairs, along with the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department, Venture Quest runs from 1-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday the weeks of June 11-15, 18-22 and 25-29, and July 9-13, 16-20 and 23-27. The cost is $65, with a limit of 16 participants per week.

Kids have fun, learn skills at BGSU Summer Kids Camps

The University’s Summer Kids Camps begin June 11. Campers participate in arts, crafts, sports, swimming and games. The camps are structured to emphasize children’s development and education while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Each week has a different theme, and campers will swim every day in the Student Recreation Center pools.

The camps’ focuses are: June 11-15, Learn to Skate; June 18-22, Learn to Play Golf; June 25-29, Learn to Climb; July 9-13, Learn to Play Golf; July 16-20, Learn to Swim, and July 23-27.

BGSU Summer Kids Camps are open to children from kindergarten to sixth grade. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Before and after care is also available, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m. daily for an additional $20 per week.

The cost of camp is $129 per week for full time and $89 per week for part time, which is defined as attendance for three days of the week. A 5 percent discount is applied after the first child for multiple children attending.

Camps will be held primarily at the Student Recreation Center, but will travel to several different BGSU facilities throughout the week.
