BG@100 to host open forum

A BG@100 open forum will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Aug. 29) in 315 Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The forum will provide an update on the project, including the recent implementation of PeopleSoft HCM and the next phase of the project—FMS (Financial Management System).

Introduction to Blackboard sessions offered

Looking for assistance in learning how to use Blackboard for your instructional purposes? Sessions covering the basics of Blackboard will be offered from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 31) and from 1-2 p.m. Friday (Sept. 2) in 222 Education Building.

The hands-on sessions will show participants how to use features such as placing a syllabus on Blackboard, uploading content, sending email to classes and configuring the course menu. Debra Beach of Instructional Media Services and Connie Molnar, director of IDEAL, will lead the sessions. Pre-registration is not required. Questions may be directed to Beach at 2-2881 or .

Business college forms executive studies center

The Center for Executive Studies has been established to take the place of the former Management
Center, the College of Business Administration has announced. Thomas “Toby” Swick has been
appointed director.

The new center will oversee the executive and Dana MBA programs and other executive education developed by the college, and will assist in delivering further executive education and programming.
The center joins Graduate Studies in Business under the leadership of Dr. James McFillen, associate dean for graduate and executive studies in business.

Graduate Studies in Business will continue to oversee full-time and evening MBA programs and
full-time and executive master of organization development programs, under the direction of Carmen Castro-Rivera.
