BG Gives Back above and beyond $105,000 goal
The BG Gives Back campaign has surpassed its goal of raising $105,000 for the United Way and Northwest Ohio Community Shares.
By passing the $107,000 mark, campaign contributions have not only exceeded this year’s goal but have also reached six figures for the first time in five years.
Additional pledges may still be sent to Kerry Foster in the Office of the Executive Vice President, 226 McFall Center.
Nora Cassidy, chemistry, and Ginny Pinkelman, Office of the CIO, who co-chaired the BG Gives Back steering committee, thanked the University community, whose “unprecedented support has made it possible for Bowling Green State University to give back to our communities,” they noted.
More specifically, they cited:
• Administrative and Classified Staff councils, the University Bookstore and the bursar’s office for their extra fund-raising efforts, which netted the campaign more than $4,000.
• Scott Euler, facilities services, for displaying United Way and Community Shares signs across campus.
• Department representatives.
“The campaign committee relies on the extra efforts of department reps to distribute materials, post communications and remind employees about the important agencies that United Way and Community Shares support,” they added.
Anyone willing to volunteer next year as a department representative or a steering committee member may email email@example.com.
Cassidy and Pinkelman also thanked merchants and individuals who donated raffle prizes, and congratulated Ian Lee, Student Support Services, for winning the grand prize drawing for a reserved parking spot for spring semester.
