BGSU theatre department presents ‘Jump/Cut’
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Three young friends determined to make their mark on the world through a documentary film are the subject of “Jump/Cut,” presented by the Bowling Green State University Department of Theatre and Film.
Performances will be held Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 4-7, in the Joe E. Brown Theatre, located in University Hall on the BGSU campus. Evening performances Thursday through Saturday will begin at 8 p.m.; weekend matinees will begin at 2 p.m.
This new work by Neena Beber provides a peek into the lives of Paul, a rising filmmaker, and his girlfriend Karen, a grad student who can’t seem to graduate, who decide to film the exploits of Dave, a lifelong buddy who has crashed on their couch. The surprise ending of their documentary provides meaning that is both sad and transcendent.
“Jump/Cut” is directed by theatre and film faculty member Dr. Ben Powell and features a cast that includes sophomore musical theatre majors Kendra Jo Brook of Judith Gap, Mont., and Neil Powell of Toledo, and theatre graduate student David Kopp of Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Senior theatre major Cassie Guion of Ashland is the stage manager for the production; sophomore musical theatre major Katy Schlegel of Bellevue is assistant stage manager.
Single tickets are $12 for students and adults, $6 for children under 12, and $5 for senior citizens 65 and older. Group rates are available. Due to mature content, this production may not be suitable for all audiences. Contact the BGSU theatre box office at 419-372-2719 for more information or to purchase tickets.
