Washington Monthly magazine has named Bowling Green State University one of “America’s Best-Bang-for-the-Buck Colleges.” BGSU was ranked 147th out of 349 schools and 50th out of 79 national universities, the highest ranking of all Ohio public institutions.

Veterans of the Korean War may hold the keys to helping veterans of modern-day conflicts learn to reintegrate back into society.
Seven BGSU faculty and staff members are "Comparing Coping Strategies and Resiliencies of Korean War veterans, and Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans." The research earned the 2013 Elwood Interdisciplinary Research Award from the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions which provides seed money for the interdisciplinary research team to seek larger grants.

BGSU faculty member Jose Cardenas is a favorite of film and telecommunications students for his hands-on teaching style and professional credibility as a film and documentary cinematographer. But Cardenas is an equally high achiever in his other, lesser-known career—the Air Force Reserve.

» Bill Auld is the guy who makes things ‘fly’
“The next time you go to a concert, look up,” said BGSU alumnus Bill Auld. The several tons of scenery and rigging you see has all been carefully planned and executed to seamlessly maintain the magic of theater.
Auld has the unusual job of calculating how to make people and all types of things “fly” on stages ranging from small churches to theaters to large arenas. He is one of only a few hundred people in the world who work professionally at this.
