Campus goes into full winter mode

Yesterday's snowstorm was an adventure—on campus and off. While facilities crews worked valiantly to keep the sidewalks and parking lots passable, students took advantage of the break from routine to have some wintry fun, as captured by a visiting news team from Channel 13. (The reporter did make a small error: campus dining facilities were open, except for the Union.)

James Wiegand, director of campus safety, said, "The facilities people did a really great job yesterday keeping up with the snow, and made it possible for us to open today."

Despite the weather, many activities yesterday went on as planned, including the Spring EXPO Job and Internship Fair, which continues today with prescheduled interviews in the Perry Field House.

Early Alert provides feedback critical to student success

The opportunity for instructors to submit Early Alerts for students in their classes closes this Sunday (Feb. 14). This simple process can be completed within your Faculty Center in MyBGSU. Early Alert, a part of the new progress reporting tools, allows for feedback on class attendance and performance at a time when students can use the information to improve their academic success.
