Falcon Flames honored on BGSU Centennial site

In honor of Valentine's Day, the University Libraries' staff has uploaded to the Centennial Memories Web site an online exhibit featuring Falcon Flames—those who met their spouse while attending BGSU or married another alumnus.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees and friends are encouraged to upload Falcon Flames memories (photos, audio/video files, typed stories) to a special Valentine's Day page.

As of December 2009, there were 10,565 Falcon Flame couples living throughout the world. This translates to 21,130 students meeting their future spouse while on campus or after graduation. The group is formally recognized as an alumni society through the BGSU Alumni Association.

As part of the University's Centennial activities, a Falcon Flame vow renewal ceremony will be held during Alumni and Friends Weekend, June 25-27.

Presidents' Day is Monday

A reminder that Monday is Presidents' Day! We currently have 2,200 prospective student reservations plus their families (over 5,800 total visitors), an increase from last year. We are especially excited by the number of participants, given that we are up 27 percent in overall campus visitors this year compared with last year.

We want to provide all our visitors with a warm welcome to the BGSU community despite the chilly weather that is predicted. Much hard work has gone into the preparations for Presidents' Day. Thank you to all of the offices and academic departments who are sponsoring presentations and open houses on Monday, and thank you to the faculty who are opening their classrooms for visits.
