Data collection exploration
Faculty and staff may be called upon shortly to help with a statewide exploration of opportunities to share administrative services among Ohio public colleges and universities, Vice President for Finance and Administration Sheri Stoll has announced.
Spearheaded by the Inter-University Council of Ohio, the effort is in keeping with Governor-elect John Kasich's public message about the state budget and possibilities for providing enhanced services at lower costs in a time of decreased revenue and budget reductions.
The first part of this exploration is collecting data on administrative services in four areas: information technology, finance, human resources and procurement. These data will be assessed to determine if there are areas where sharing services would make good economic and institutional sense. At this point, the University is only required to gather data and submit it to the Inter-University Council by Jan. 7.
Kate Whitmore, interim director of internal audit, is the "point person" for data collection and questions. She will contact those whose help is needed. She can be reached at 2-9985 or email@example.com. Because the timeline is so short, please respond as quickly as possible if asked for assistance.
