BGSU Jerome Library
Author Chris McDougall will be available to talk with participants following the event.
Course begins and ends at Jerome Library (approximately 2 miles) and will run through BGSU campus and Bowling Green city streets. The approximate halfway point is at the Wood County District Public Library (refreshments provided).
Free parking for Bowling Green community participants available at Anderson Arena Lot N from 7-10 a.m.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Is this a timed event?
There is no clock, chip timing, BIB number, or official distance. This event is dedicated to having a good time with friends, family, co-workers, community, etc. We are promoting fitness, literacy, and fun.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all participants must sign a waiver. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver form as well.
Are there age limits?
The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages.
Is there a cost to participate?
The event is free. Donations of used running shoes (or any shoe with a rubber sole, even flip flops!) will be accepted at check-in from those who would like to support EcoErek
Erek is a 13-year-old boy from northwest Ohio who has received prestigious awards for his clothing recycling projects. Donated shoes in good condition will be given to those in need, and shoes in poor condition will be ground to make raw material for sidewalks, running tracks, carpet underlayment and playground mulch.
Is the event weather dependent?
The event will start rain or shine. A delay may be possible due to lightening or dangerous conditions.
