Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

The criminal justice program integrates coursework with professional interaction in various disciplines. It is designed to prepare students for graduate school, law school, and careers in criminal and juvenile probation and parole, victim's services, private security, and other related fields.

The program places a high emphasis on superior academic achievement, the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and the development of a research potential. Every student must complete an original proposal for research (CRJU 4800) as well as a field placement or practicum. The student is responsible for identifying the internship site. However, all internships are subject to the approval and supervision of program faculty. All "core courses" and "core elective courses" in the program must be taken for a grade and earn a "C" or higher.

Admittance to the program is restricted to applicants who meet the requirements published by the BGSU criminal justice department. This degree is awarded by the College of Health and Human Services.
