Falcons FLOCK (Flourishing, Learning, Overcoming, Challenging, Knowing) is a series of 7 workshops designed to increase awareness of your mind, better manage your emotions, and improve your relationships.  No registration required!  Come to one or all seven.  The first 30 participants are welcome.  Questions?  Call Patricia Helyer 419 372 2081.

Topic: Should We All Just Get Along: Coping with Racism and Prejudice
This workshop teaches the differences between racism and prejudice and the ramifications and consequences of racism/prejudice environmentally and individually. Be a more effective ally and learn effective coping strategies following racist/prejudice encounters or experiences.

Our emotions are an important part of how we function, and with all our ups and downs, it can sometimes feel as though our emotions take over. This workshop will help participants better understand, accept and/or change emotions

Sometimes we fall into common relationship traps. Learn to identify and avoid them, how to practice effective communication skills, and increase your understanding of how to get what you want from your relationships.

Topic:  Mindfulness and Acceptance Episode 1: Living in the Moment  
Learn about the nature of mindfulness—which involves attending to our current sensory experiences, thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. The workshop will present you with several strategies to enhance your experience of mindfulness. Finally, we will discuss benefits of practicing mindfullness.

Topic:  Mindfulness and Acceptance Episode 2: Quieting the Judgmental Mind
Learn how to assume a nonjudgmental “observer” role in attending to and accepting your present experiences—and how to free yourself from excessively focusing on the past and the future. The session will include further discussion of benefits associated with practicing mindfulness.

How do you deal with a crisis situation? Learn distress tolerance; how to nurture yourself, and how to replace negative events with more positive ones.
