History Highlights




The BGSU cheerleaders are recognized nationally. In 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 the squad competed at NCA Nationals finishing among the top 12 schools in Division 1A. In 2007 the cheerleaders were named Ameri-Cheer Open Nationals Champions.

In 2010, the squad placed 4th in semi-finals, and 5th in finals at UCA College Nationals in Orlando, FL.

In 2011, the squad was ranked 3rd in taping and received a partial-paid bid to the UCA College National Championships. Among 21 teams, BGSU placed 1st in semi-finals and 4th in finals at UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL.

In 2012, the squad was 1 of 3 D1A schools to be awarded a partial-paid bid to the UCA College National Championships.  Among 24 teams, BGSU placed 2nd in semi-finals & 5th in finals at UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL.

In 2013, the squad was 1 of 5 D1A schools to be awarded a partial-paid bid to the UCA College National Championships. Among 25 teams, BGSU placed 2nd in semi-finals and 2nd in finals at UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL BGSU competed in the World University Championships to represent the USA, and among eight countries, BGSU received gold. They will travel internationally fall 2013 to represent the USA.

In 2013, a BGSU All-Girl quad was selected to compete at Worlds to represent the Team USA All-Girl.

In 2014, BGSU will be awarded a full-paid bid to the UCA College National Championships.
