“Jay Jay Speaks” Keynote Speaker Biography

Participate and experience BGSU’s rich mosaic of diversity at this one-day event featuring a keynote presentation, informative and interactive workshops and musical and dance performances as well as the awarding of six Mosaic Diversity Scholarships donated by Target.  Project Mosaic encourages dialogue, discussion and activism amongst the conference participants and greater campus community.

One of the day’s highlights is the S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D. Project – sponsored by the BGSU Arts Village where workshop material is put into action.

The idea is to gather stories, testimonies, intentions, truths, confessions, healing, expressions, and dreams on six- inch pieces of cloth and sew them together into a quilt grown from the need for new voices to make way for new possibilities. Participants write their story, draw pictures, and make promises; they write commitments about the things they would die for, and what they are willing to live for.
