What is Black Issues Conference:
The Black Issues Conference (BIC) is a diversity initiative sponsored by the Black Student Union and the Office of Multicultural Affairs at BGSU. The conference will serve as a catalyst in the educational process of the entire campus and community. It provides an opportunity to learn about and address key issues that affect the African-American/Black community. It is expected that students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members will attend the conference in support of BGSU’s core values of “Respect for one another, cooperation, intellectual, and spiritual growth, creative imaginings and pride in a job well done.” The conference provides a forum for discussion, dialogue, and research presentation. Each year the BIC has attracted participants from throughout Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
