Graduate Student Senate
Please visit our new website at: http://www.bgsu.edu/student-government/graduate-student-senate.html
The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is actively searching for a graduate student representative to the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Board of Trustees. As one of two student trustees, the graduate student trustee is charged with representing the BGSU graduate student body concerns to the Board and working in unison with the undergraduate trustee on behalf of all BGSU students. The Graduate Student Trustee furthermore has the obligation to advance the mission of GSS through participation and attendance in GSS General Assembly, the GSS executive committee, and GSS-sponsored events. Welcome letter from the BGSU Graduate Student Senate
Dear BGSU Graduate Students,
On behalf of the Graduate Student Senate (GSS), we would like to greet you with a warm welcome to Bowling Green State University! You are joining a unique community of diverse, inclusive, and enthusiastic students here. We hope that you have a great experience at BGSU!
GSS is the leading student organization at BGSU representing the needs, interests, and opinions of all graduate students. We strive to ensure just representation and treatment of all graduate students and to enhance your academic and social experiences at BGSU.
Each academic department or program and graduate student organization, as recognized by the Graduate College, is eligible for representation in GSS. You are encouraged to represent your department or organization as graduate student senators. As a senator, you can
- Learn the latest issues affecting graduate students
- Bring individual graduate student and departmental needs to the general assembly
- Vote on issues and concerns impacting graduate student life
- Represent graduate students on university committees
If you are interested in GSS, but want more information, please feel free to come to our biweekly General Assembly in the McFall Gallery. You can talk to the senators or officers about opportunities for participation. We want you to get involved and make your voice heard.
We always appreciate open communication as we serve graduate students. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the GSS Office (402 Bowen-Thompson Student Union). We look forward to meeting you!
All the best,
Lingxiao Ge, GSS President (email@example.com)
