University Opening Committee

PURPOSE:

To organize the logistics, collaboration, and campus-wide effort during move-in weekend and the first part of the fall semester of the new academic year.


FUNCTION:

  1. Serve as a partnership to organize and collaborate on the campus-wide to during move-in weekend and the start of the academic year to ensure a smooth transition for students, families, and BGSU faculty and staff.

MEMBERSHIP:

  1. Departmental representatives from Campus Activities (including Student Organization Services), Facilities Services, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, BGeXperience, the Office of the Provost, Intercollegiate Athletics, the Office of the Dean of Students, the Honors Program, Orientation and First-Year Programs, Registration and Records, the Office of Admissions, the Office of Residence Life, Dining Services, the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, and other Residential Learning Communities as necessary and/or interest is expressed.

CHAIR:

The chair shall be appointed by the Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.


OPERATING PROCEDURE:

All meetings shall be conducted within the framework of BGSU’s core values of respect and cooperation.


VOTING RIGHTS:

All members shall have equal voting rights.


REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The University Opening Committee reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
