State of the State Presenter
Presenter: Gia Adeen, M.A. Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio
Gia Adeen has served for 20 plus years as an EEO, Diversity & Inclusion professional advocating for fair and equitable treatment for all employees. Gia began her career as an Investigator with the State of Ohio, Civil Rights Commission where she spent ten years investigating complaints of discrimination & harassment filed by citizens in the State of Ohio in areas of employment, housing, credit, higher education and public accommodation. Gia also served as a Program Manager with the Fair Housing Resource Center managing a testing program to determine if landlords and real estate agents in Lake County Ohio were complying with fair housing laws. Gia began working in higher education in 2004 as the Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity Manager with Cuyahoga Community College and in August of 2012, Gia began working for Case Western Reserve University as the EEO & Diversity Manager. Gia has spent considerable time during her career facilitating development opportunities for faculty, employees, students and others on topics such as Civil Treatment for Managers, Civil Treatment for Employees, Safe Zone, Sexual Harassment Prevention workshops and a variety of diversity & inclusion related training sessions.
