Presenter: James Clinkscale, M.R.C., Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission

Biography:

James Clinkscale began his career with the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission (ORSC) in October of 1997. He has worked for the ORSC in many capacities: as an Employer Services Specialist, Program Specialist for the Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities, an Employer Services Coordinator working with employers in the entire state of Ohio, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Windmills Coordinator and the Statewide Coordinator for the Consumer Advisory Committee.

While working with the Governor’s Council, James organized and coordinated the prestigious “Ohio Youth Leadership Forum,” a dynamic Leadership Conference for Ohio youth with disabilities.

James has also worked in the private sector at various companies with a background primarily in Sales and Marketing. James is an experienced speaker and trainer utilizing this skill for both professional and personal pursuits. He has facilitated and created numerous presentations and workshops for employers, ORSC staff, and people with disabilities seeking employment. James’ ADA and disability as Diversity presentations are designed to go beyond the presentation of facts and law changes but to assist businesses and organizations to develop best practices and inclusive policies that enhance their business structures and workplace efficiency.

James is currently the Manager of Diversity and Inclusion within the Human Resources Department of the ORSC. In this role, James serves as the ADA Coordinator and EEO Manager for over 1,200 employees. James’ ability to utilize his workforce development knowledge and experience along with strong presentation skills has enabled him to form many effective working relationships with Human Resource professionals. These relationships permit him to share important strategies that are beneficial to employers and assist people with disabilities to be successfully integrated into the workforce.

James obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina and earned a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky.
