State of the State

Presenter: Bruce Timberlake, U.S. Department of Labor (OFCCP), Columbus, Ohio


Bruce Timberlake is the District Director of the Columbus, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska District Offices for the US Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contractor Programs (OFCCP). Mr. Timberlake has been a government employee for 30 years and is a Disabled Veteran who served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne @ Ft. Bragg, NC, 10th Mountain Division @ Ft. Drum, NY, and the 101rst Airborne Air Assault, Pathfinder Division @ Ft. Campbell, KY.

Mr. Timberlake’s general responsibilities is the mentor/management of 2 Assistant District Directors and a staff of 16 Compliance Officers while monitoring the enforcement of Executive Order 11246, as amended, Selection 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, 38 USC 4212, The Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) on all contractors and subcontractors holding any federal or federally assisted contracts worth more than $10,000 annually.

Mr. Timberlake earned his BS from Marshall University, Huntington, WVA, while serving in the US Army. In his spare time, Bruce is a mentor and basketball coach of a non-profit organization named Youth for a Positive Image (YFAPI), founded to inspire, mentor and educate the high risk youth in South East Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Timberlake has been married for 22 years (Wife Terri) and has 3 children (Daughter Loren, grown) and sons (Bruce Jr., grown) and Quinton who’s a freshman in college.
